- Melbourne Telecom was established 1989 by Melvin Elias with a vision to provide quality and efficient telecommunications services to businesses in Melbourne Australia. Melvin started in the communications industry in 1983 working for then Telecom Australia (now Telstra) as a technical officer. In 6 years Melvin worked, learned and experienced various departments of Telecom Australia and gathered experience and knowledge in servicing customer equipment such as PABX and Key systems, Telephone exchange work, lines work, TV and Radio, sales and fault despatch. Initially Melbourne Telecom supplied and installed telephone systems for small to medium businesses that required PABX systems up to 300 users.
